This quiet, empty yard!

We‘re pretty much alone, which makes taking photos much easier. What happened here back then on 20th July 1944? I try to imagine and remember a TV film.

Gunshot cracks in my head in the dark night. I hope it was a quick death for those who were murdered here.

Did the marksmen or the victims stand on the bronze plaque embedded in the cobbled courtyard.

This place is damnably serene and peaceful.

I can do little or nothing with the monument of a man, bold in demeanour. The photographs of him with "Die Betende" and "Der Gebeugte" are defenceless.

Who is carrying the sculpture?
